Eaker Center for Leadership Development Faculty Senator 2024-2025 SMSgt Talbert R. Knepshield is an Instructor at the Air Force First Sergeant Academy, Ira C. Eaker Center for Leadership Development, Maxwell-Gunter Air Force Base, Alabama. He is responsible for developing and delivering curriculum to 634 prospective total force First Sergeants annually. Sergeant Knepshield grew up in Pittsburgh, Pa. He entered the Air Force in January 2006 and graduated from the Vehicle Operations Apprentice Course in April 2006. In 2014 he filled the needs of the Air Force when he cross trained in the Imagery Analysis career field. In 2018 he was selected for a developmental special duty to be a first sergeant which is the role he continues to serve in. His career has included assignments in California, Virginia, Florida, and South Korea. Sergeant Knepshield has several expeditionary deployments in support of Operations IRAQI FREEDOM. Prior to his current assignment, the Senior Master Sergeant was assigned to the 96th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Eglin Air Force Base, Florida.
