AFROTC Hosts an Inter-Detachment Running Club Competition

  • Published

The Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) Running Club is an inter-detachment competition where cadets follow a six-week running plan to learn proper form and pacing in a relaxed, fun environment, and interact directly with the AFROTC Commander, Colonel Corey Ramsby. The detachment whose cadets cumulatively have the most improved 1.5 mile run at the conclusion of the competition will receive a visit from Col Ramsby and Headquarters staff recognizing and congratulating all participants.

In order to participate in the competition, cadets must complete the entire six weeks of workouts in order for their 1.5 mile run times to be considered. If a participant begins the competition but then drops out or is injured, their score will no longer be calculated for their detachment’s overall score.

Cadets can log their participation during the six-week competition by posting photos and videos to social media using the hashtag #afrotcrunningclub. Additionally, Col Ramsby will complete the workouts as well as post mentorship videos to the AFROTC TEAMS and Facebook pages.

The winning detachment will be announced at the end of November 2022.
