WASHINGTON--Joint Staff Spokesperson Col. Patrick S. Ryder provided the following readout:
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Joseph F. Dunford, Jr. met with Jordanian Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mahmoud Abdul Haleem Freihat today in Washington D.C.
The two leaders discussed several issues of mutual concern in the Middle East and the broader regional security situation. Gen. Dunford affirmed the U.S. commitment to its strategic security relationship with Jordan in facing regional and global challenges. Gen. Dunford thanked Lt. Gen. Freihat for his military's continued contributions to U.S. and Coalition operations.
The U.S. and Jordan share a strong military-to-military relationship as key partners committed to peace and security in the Middle East region.
