WASHINGTON--Joint Staff Spokesperson Maj. Trisha Guillebeau provided the following readout:
Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. John E. Hyten met today with Romania Chief of Defense Lt. Gen. Daniel Petrescu at Mihail Kogalniceanu Air Base in Romania.

Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. John E. Hyten met today with Romania Chief of Defense Lt. Gen. Daniel Petrescu at Mihail Kogalniceanu Air Base in Romania.
The two military leaders discussed a range of issues, including the shared challenges faced in Europe and ways to increase coordination in areas of mutual interest. Further, Gen. Hyten thanked Lt. Gen. Petrescu for Romania’s contributions to Operation Inherent Resolve and the NATO Resolute Support mission.
Romania is a key NATO ally and shares a strong partnership with the U.S. around the globe.
