WASHINGTON--Joint Staff Spokesperson Col. DeDe S. Halfhill provided the following readout:                               

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark A. Milley met with the Polish Chief of the General Staff Gen. Rajmund Andrzejczak today in Brussels, Belgium.

Gen. Milley thanked Gen. Andrzejczak for his nation's contributions to the Resolute Support mission and Operation Inherent Resolve. The two leaders also discussed numerous issues of shared concern including opportunities for increased cooperation, readiness and modernization efforts.

Poland is a leader in NATO defense and deterrence activities in the Baltic Sea region and Eastern Europe. The U.S. and Poland continue to share a strong defense relationship and cooperate on a wide range of programs.

Gen. Milley was in Brussels to participate in the NATO Military Committee in Chiefs of Defence Session, held Jan. 14-15 at NATO Headquarters.
