WASHINGTON — Joint Staff Spokesperson Col. DeDe S. Halfhill provided the following readout:
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark A. Milley spoke with Chief of the Australian Defence Force Gen. Angus Campbell today by phone.
The two military leaders discussed a range of issues, including regional security, bilateral exercises and operations, and ways to combat COVID-19. The two leaders agreed to continue to strengthen multilateral cooperation and improve capabilities and interoperability.
The U.S.-Australia alliance plays a critical role in maintaining peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region and despite COVID-19, we continue to maintain our readiness and resolve.
