MAXWELL AIR FORCE BASE, Ala. -- The Air Force Cyber College became an official partner of the U.S. Cyber Command Academic Engagement Network in an announcement made Jan. 6, 2022.
AEN is an alliance of public and private academic institutions nationwide, collaborating to support and enhance four U.S. Cyber Command lines of effort: future workforce, applied cyber research, applied analytics and strategic issues.
“The fact that U.S. Cyber Command is reaching out to partner with academia shows the importance of cyberspace to national defense and how more effort is needed to seek continuing national competitive advantage in this unique domain,” said Dr. Karen Guttieri, Air Force Cyber College dean.
With this announcement, Cyber College joins 83 other civilian and military educational institutions in the network. Some of the other AEN partners include the Air Force Academy, U.S. Army War College, Texas A&M University and George Mason University.
“Our team is excited for Cyber College to be recognized as a leading institution in the cyber education field with our acceptance into the Academic Engagement Network,” she said. “We look forward to contributing our research and expertise to this important effort and helping the warfighters at U.S. Cyber Command further their lines of effort.”
The Cyber College faculty will help advance the Department of Defense’s ongoing strategic dialogue on the cyber domain by engaging with U.S. Cyber Command staff, the Cyber National Mission Force and the four service cyber component commands.
