The Community College of the Air Force will host a series of events to celebrate their 50th anniversary.

The official kick-off event began with Governor Kay Ivey signing a proclamation to recognize CCAF’s long standing relationship with the community on Feb. 28, 2022.

“We are honored that Gov Ivey took the time to recognize the hard work and achievements of CCAF after 50 years of service,” said Lt. Col. Kevin Pond, CCAF commander and commandant.

Other events scheduled include the opening day ceremony highlighted by the opening of the CCAF 50-year time capsule; a Q&A session with one of CCAF success story members, Mr. Anthony Melchiorri, and a historic CCAF 50th Anniversary graduation hosted by AU/CC with Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force JoAnne Bass.

“With more than 272K registered students, we will continue to be the “College of Choice” for our enlisted members, paving a way to their success for many more years to come,” said Lt. Col. Kevin Pond, CCAF commander and commandant. “We will continue to provide the opportunities for all enlisted members who join our Air and Space Force to receive associate of applied science degrees, as well as pathways to earning bachelor’s degrees, industry certifications, and workplace credentials --- to benefit our members for a lifetime.”
