MAXWELL AIR FORCE BASE, Ala. -- The 42nd Security Forces Squadron will be conducting training exercises September 6, 16, and 23, from 5:30 p.m. to midnight along River Road at Maxwell Air Force Base.
Due to the nature of the training exercises, River Road will be closed during these hours. Base personnel are requested to avoid the area during the specified dates and times to ensure the safety of all involved. All gates from the prison camp to officer housing will be closed during these training dates and times. Members from security forces will be on scene during exercise scenarios to ensure public safety.
These training exercises are focused on low-light combat operations familiarization. The drills will involve simulated live-fire, the use of night vision equipment, and the execution of combat formations. As a result of these training activities, a significant amount of noise can be expected during the designated hours. This noise component is crucial to the training process, ensuring that the Defenders are fully prepared for real-world scenarios.
The 42nd Security Forces Squadron apologizes for any inconvenience caused and appreciates the understanding of the base community as they prioritize the safety and readiness of their personnel.
In the event of a real-world situation, the exercise will be immediately terminated, and the base will be notified through the official Facebook page and the AtHoc notification system.
