Brigadier General Christopher C. Bogdan selected for promotion to major general Published June 4, 2011 By Laura McGowan 88th Air Base Wing Public Affairs WRIGHT- PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio -- Brig. Gen. Christopher C. Bogdan, KC-46 Program Executive Officer and Program Director, KC-46 Tanker Modernization Directorate, Aeronautical Systems Center, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, had his nomination for promotion to major general confirmed by the Senate on May 27. He is responsible for developing, testing, fielding and supporting the replacement aircraft for the KC-135. "April [his wife] and I are both humbled and honored that the Air Force is allowing me to continue to serve this great nation in the rank of major general," he said when asked how he felt about being selected for a second star. "We look forward to the challenges of this new level of responsibility." His biography is a testament in itself of how General Bogdan approaches his job in the Air Force. From the beginning of his career in 1983, he has distinguished himself repeatedly: Distinguished Graduate from the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo.; Distinguished graduate from Squadron Officer School, Maxwell AFB, Ala.; Distinguished Graduate, USAF Test Pilot School, Edwards AFB, Calif.; Master of Science degree from California State University, Northridge; Distinguished graduate, Air Command and Staff College, Maxwell AFB, Ala.; Distinguished graduate, Master of Science degree in national resource strategy, Industrial College of the Armed Forces, Fort Lesley J. McNair, Washington, D.C. For younger Airmen, enlisted and officers who wish to be successful in the Air Force, General Bogdan has a message for them: "Do the absolute best you can, no matter what job the Air Force asks you to perform," he said. "Do it with integrity, selflessness and teamwork, and if you do that, success will always follow."
