Two Wright-Patt Airmen receive surprise promotions before holidays

WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio -- Two base Airmen here recieved an early surprise Tuesday, Dec. 21, right before heading home for the holidays when they were promoted to the next rank.

Tech. Sgt. Beverly Bull, Pediatric Flight chief with the 88th Medical Operations Squadron was promoted to Master Sgt. and Staff Sgt. Luke Bistor, non-commissioned officer in charge of special events with the 88th Security Forces Squadron, was promoted to Technical Sgt.

Sergeants Bull and Bistor each were awarded their new stripes by Lt. Gen. Thomas Owen, the commander of Aeronautical Systems Center. The promotions take effect immediately and were awarded under the Stripes for Exceptional Performers, or STEP program.

The STEP promotions are rare and supplement existing airmen promotion programs. They are designed to accommodate unique circumstances that, in the commander's judgment, clearly warrant promotion for deserving individuals.
