MAXWELL AIR FORCE BASE, Ala. -- Due to inclement weather and hazardous driving conditions, Maxwell Air Force Base and Gunter Annex have declared a "Key and Essential Personnel Only" reporting status, effective immediately.
As a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of all personnel, only those designated as key and essential are required to report to work on January 21 and 22, 2025. Personnel should contact their supervisor or chain of command for clarification on their reporting status.
Non-essential personnel are not required to report to installation and are advised not to attempt to come onto the base unless authorized by their supervisor or commander. To minimize risks, maximum telework is encouraged for all non-essential personnel.
The following essential services will remain available:
• The Maxwell Boulevard and Gunter Annex Gate will remain open.
• Essential services, such as security, fire, and emergency medical response, will continue to be available.
• Food will be provided at the Gunter Annex and Officer Training School dining facilities. Please note that the Riverfront Inn will be closed until further notice.
These measures are taken to minimize risks associated with hazardous driving conditions and to prioritize the safety of all base personnel.
