MAXWELL AIR FORCE BASE, Ala. -- Maxwell Air Force Base and Gunter Annex have lifted the "Key and Essential Personnel Only" reporting status, effective January 23, 2025. All base personnel are expected to report at their normal duty time. Members are encouraged to contact their supervisor or chain of command for individual reporting instructions.
The decision to resume normal operations comes after a thorough assessment of the weather conditions and road safety in the surrounding area. The base has determined that it is safe for all personnel to travel to the installation and resume normal activities.
"We appreciate the cooperation and flexibility of our personnel during the recent weather-related closures," said Col. Shamekia Toliver, 42nd Air Base Wing, commander. "The safety of our personnel is our top priority, and we are confident that the conditions are now suitable for normal operations to resume."
Personnel are advised to exercise caution when traveling, as some roads may still be slippery or icy.
