CDCs to stay open five days a week Published June 7, 2013 By Courtesy of the 42nd Air Base Wing MAXWELL AIR FORCE BASE, Ala. - -- Maxwell and Gunter child development centers will remain open during the furlough periods this summer, announced 42nd Air Base Wing Commander Col. Trent Edwards. "We have worked out the details, scheduling and Air Force guidance," said Edwards, who added that both Maxwell and Gunter will be able to maintain their summer youth camps as well. "I would like to personally thank my force support squadron civilian team for not only conducting the extra research to find a solution, but for the additional sacrifice that some of them will make to ensure the programs operate without interruption during the furlough period. In fact, we will maintain the same CDC hours, and not every base is able to do so."
