Under the direction of the Air Force Medical Services, the 42nd Medical Group Radiology Department is transitioning to teleradiology.

The transition started in October and will be fully implemented July 1. Teleradiology allows for faster radiologic study interpretation and reporting for doctors and patients.

However, the 42nd MDG does not have the equipment to send mammograms electronically, so the mammography department will close effective July 1.

Patients will be referred to a local breast imaging facility for continuation of care. The radiology department will continue to send out annual letters to inform patients when their mammograms are due.

Mammography films will be stored at the radiology department and available for pickup from 7 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. Patients can call radiology at 953-7881 for information.
