Clinic referral letters now available online

Beneficiary referral confirmation letters can be sent by email instead of the U.S. Postal Service for selected beneficiaries.

Beneficiaries will receive a generic email message instructing them to go to the secure Humana Military website to log in and retrieve their authorization letter.

The reason for this change is to speed up the notification process so beneficiaries can act on their referrals more quickly. Also, electronic communication methods significantly reduce postal cost.

Beneficiaries of the 42nd Medical Group who have an account set up on the Humana Military website will receive email notifications immediately and will no longer receive their referral authorization letter through the mail.

Beneficiaries without an account will still receive authorizations in the mail seven-10 days after the referral is entered. Beneficiaries who would like to sign up for an account with Humana Military and begin receiving notification letters via email can visit www.humana-military.com.

Select "beneficiary," and follow the steps to register for an account. For questions regarding this change to the delivery of referral authorizations, contact 2nd Lt. Joseph Estep at joseph.estep@us.af.mil or 953-6402.
