The 42nd Medical Group will be hosting the Airmen Helping Airmen Forum group-sponsored event, the Jingle Mingle, from noon-4 p.m. Tuesday in the Maxwell clinic's third floor classroom.

The event will consist of $2 pizza slices, free hot chocolate, mugs, T-shirts and activities to promote self-respect among Airmen, along with group discussions about sexual assault myths and respect in the workplace.

AHAF will also be spreading its message of respect among Airmen and holiday cheer at various locations around the base.

The goal for this event is to increase Sexual Assault and Prevention Response Program awareness using the Air Force core values and wingman concepts.

"Sexual assault prevention and response is a critical issue within the Air Force," said senior Airman Emily Pritchett, chair of the Airmen Helping Airmen Forum. "We as Airmen, within the different units on base, are trying to raise awareness and take a stand on the issue in order to make a cultural change from the inside out."

The event will be conducted in a classroom setting, as an effort to provide a more comfortable setting to the event, making it different from annual SAPR training.

"We're going to eat pizza, drink hot chocolate and talk in a relaxed group setting about issues such as respect in the work place," said Senior Airman Heather Ralson, 42nd Security Forces Squadron. "We will also be caroling around the base to show that Airmen can have fun in a positive and respectful way."

The AHAF encourages those who feel they need to report a sexual assault to call 953-8696.
