Maxwell Commissary open Mondays while Gunter Commissary closed for repairs

  • Published
The Maxwell Commissary will start opening on Mondays next week while repairs are being made to the Gunter Commissary's damaged main electrical panel.

The Gunter Commissary closed July 6 when the store's main electrical panel blew. Damage analysis indicates it will take about 30 days to manufacture and install a replacement panel.

"It's unfortunate that the Gunter Commissary will be closed for some time, but in the meantime we're extending shopping hours at the Maxwell Commissary to help alleviate some of the inconvenience to our customers," said Ami Hernandez, store director of the Maxwell Commissary. The new Monday hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

"We apologize for the inconvenience to our customers, and we'll keep people informed about the status of Gunter's reopening as the repair work progresses," she said.

Along with its new temporary Monday hours, the Maxwell Commissary's regular hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays; and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays. The commissary opens a half hour early each day for shoppers with disabilities.
