Air University Foundation board selects new chairman

The Air University Foundation board of trustees unanimously approved the selection of retired Air Force Lt. Gen. Frank B. Campbell as the foundation's new chairman of the board, replacing retired Air Force Gen. Charles G. Boyd.

AUF President Ray White said Mr. Campbell brings a wealth of military and corporate experience to the AUF Board of Trustees.

"His leadership will undoubtedly move the foundation forward and increase our ability to provide enhanced support to Air University," he said.

Joe Panza, executive director of AUF, said Mr. Campbell has been a trustee on the foundation board for nearly three years. He said Mr. Campbell, who retired from the Air Force after a distinguished career spanning 34 years of active-duty service, is now a senior executive with Lockheed Martin Corp.

"I am honored to serve with the dedicated members and contributors of Air University Foundation who understand and enthusiastically support Air University and its mission," Mr. Campbell said. "In the past, the role of our foundation has long served an important need within Air University. I pledge to work diligently with our board of trustees to expand the scope and level of support to Air University. We are very fortunate to continue to serve our nation and our Air Force in this role on the Air University Foundation."

Mr. Panza said the foundation "has been blessed" to have Mr. Boyd as chairman for many years and credits much of what AUF has been able to accomplish to his leadership.

"Mr. Boyd will stay on the board in an emeritus position and will stay closely involved with Air University as a member of the Air University Board of Visitors," he said. "We are fortunate to have Mr. Campbell following in his footsteps, and I'm sure he will lead the foundation well into the future."

The Air University Foundation is an independent 501 C (3) not-for-profit private organization that provides financial support to all schools and agencies within Air University. The foundation supports conferences, faculty and student research, various award programs, distinguished speakers and other programs that enhance the educational experience of Air University.
