Effective Thursday, the 42nd Medical Group will change the family practice sick-call hours from 6:45 to 7:30 a.m. to 7 to 7:30 a.m. Monday-Friday, excluding holidays and down days.

The change will align family practice and flight medicine sick call times, creating an easy-to-remember schedule for anyone who may need to go to sick call.

The change to sick-call hours was implemented by Col. Diana Atwell, 42nd Medical Group commander, in order to address the needs of the base and assist personnel with health care needs.

Maj. Phillip Douglas, 42nd Medical Group practice manager, said the changes to sick-call hours will allow more personnel to receive assistance, even though sick-call is reduced by 15 minutes.

"This change will allow the 42nd Medical Group to optimize their resources, allowing them to add more appointments to their schedule and yielding better patient access to medical care throughout the week," said Major Douglas.
