TRICARE covers off-base flu shots Published Nov. 6, 2009 By 42nd Medical Group MAXWELL AIR FORCE BASE, Ala. -- Currently, the Maxwell AFB clinic is out of the seasonal flu vaccination; further supply has been ordered and is expected in the near future. In the meantime, TRICARE eligible patients who want the seasonal flu vaccine may visit one of the PriMed acute care locations. No appointment or referral is required, and there will not be a charge for the office visit. TRICARE will cover the cost of the actual flu vaccination. While we honor our retired servicemembers, availability of the flu vaccine at the Retiree Appreciation Day cannot be guaranteed at this time. For the most up to date information regarding both seasonal and H1N1 flu vaccines, call the Immunization clinic at 953-5731.
