Clinic announces upcoming flu shot opportunities

The 42nd Medical Group continues to offer flu vaccinations. Upcoming scheduled opportunities to receive the seasonal flu vaccine are as follows:

· Oct. 14, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Electronic Logistics Group, or ELSG, Auditorium, Gunter Annex (active duty only)

· Oct. 17, 8 a.m. to noon, at the Maxwell Clinic, Building 760 (active duty and dependents)

· Nov. 20, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., during Retiree Appreciation Day at a location to be determined (retirees and their dependents)

The Immunizations Clinic continues to offer flu shots to all active duty and medically high-risk beneficiaries during duty hours. The clinic will offer flu shots to all other beneficiaries after Oct. 19.

The H1N1 vaccine has not arrived yet. First shipments are anticipated to be sent mid-October. Sources of vaccines will be different for active duty and all other beneficiaries. Active duty will receive the injectable H1N1 vaccine; all other beneficiaries may receive either injectable or the mist form of the vaccine as determined by administration guidelines.
