Intramural volleyball
The Maxwell-Gunter Fitness and Sports Center is planning the intramural beach volleyball season to begin Sept. 2. Participating squadrons need to complete and submit their endorsement no later than Aug. 21, 12 p.m.

Endorsements need to include the number of teams to be entered, coach's name, rank, squadron, duty phone, and one alternate. In order to prepare the schedule, negative replies are needed. Each team must submit a separate form, and all rosters must be submitted by the first match of the season.

All teams are required to supply the Fitness and Sports Center with a list of duty-related activities, with the Commander's signature, that could conflict with scheduling during the season. Picnic, parties and social events are not considered official functions.

The commander's endorsement is mandatory for a team to enter. The coaches' meeting is Aug. 7 at 10 a.m. in the Fitness Center Annex Conference Room.

Beach volleyball bylaws
The current U.S. Outdoor Volleyball rulebook will govern all play with the exceptions and additions in these bylaws, Operation instructions and Air Force instructions.

General Information
·Matches will be played in a rally point format with the 1st and 2nd game being played to 21 points and the 3rd, if necessary, game to 15 points. Teams will switch sides when the total number of points is a multiple of five.

·Four players play on a side during a match. A team can start and play with three players, if that is all they have. We will utilize "ghost play" meaning that every fourth service will be lost. During rally play not only is every fourth service lost but the opposing team will get a point. Game time is forfeit time.

·If a player is discovered serving out of order, service is lost and during rally point play a point is awarded.

·Any team that forfeits two matches in succession or a total of three matches will be dropped from the league. All losses acquired by teams that lost to a team that forfeited out of the league will be converted to wins and all remaining teams will be given wins.

·Rosters are due before the first match is played.

·The balls and scoresheet will be left in a "footlocker" next to the volleyball courts, after the last match please return to the "footlocker" and secure the lid.
