Maxwell-Gunter units receive Air Force excellence award Published June 26, 2009 MAXWELL AIR FORCE BASE, Ala. -- Ten units at Maxwell and Gunter have received the Air Force Organizational Excellence Award for July 1, 2006 through June 30, 2008. The award recognizes "acts or services that place the unit's performance significantly above that of other units of similar composition and mission responsibility. Among those receiving the AFOEA were Air University and Spaatz Center's Air War College, Air Command and Staff College, Squadron Officer College, and School for Advanced Air and Space Studies. Also receiving the award were the LeMay Center, Eaker College for Professional Development, Civil Air Patrol - U.S. Air Force, Barnes Center's Community College of the Air Force, and the Center for Enlisted Professional Military Education (currently the Barnes Center).
