Day Street gate closure July 1 to December 15 Published June 26, 2009 MAXWELL AIR FORCE BASE, Ala. -- Beginning July 1, the Day Street gate will be closed until December 2009 for renovation projects. Those entering and exiting the installation will use the Bell or Kelly Street gates until construction is complete. The Bell Street gate will be open 24 hours daily, and the Kelly Street gate will be open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. To assist in relieving traffic congestion during peak hours, both lanes at the Kelly Street gate will be open to incoming traffic only between 6 and 8 a.m., and outbound traffic from 4 to 6 p.m. For more information, call the Maxwell Base Defense Operations Center at 953-7222.
