Base pools ready to open for fun, parties Published May 22, 2009 By Rachel Mathis Marketing and Publicity Maxwell Support Division MAXWELL AIR FORCE BASE, Ala. -- Maxwell and Gunter pools can be reserved for parties Tuesday - Friday from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., or Saturday and Sunday 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. There is a minimum of two weeks notice to request a pool party, to allow time for adequate lifeguard staffing. With the pools opening tomorrow, now would a good time to plan for those parties. The season closes Labor Day. The cost of reserving the pools depends on the number of patrons. Cost for one hour range from $79 to $118 and cost for two hours range from $105 to $170. All prices include the fee to reserve the pool facility and the cost of the lifeguards. The number of lifeguards is determined by AFI 34-110. A $10 deposit is required at the time of the reservations and will be deducted from the total cost. The full amount is due two weeks prior to the pool party. Each pool has two flume 12-foot slides, basketball goals, locker rooms and an eating area so that you can bring your own food and drinks. Alcoholic beverages may be served with written authorization from the Chief of 42nd Services Division.
