Security Forces sets up ‘Tip’ line

  • Published
The Maxwell Security Forces Squadron has established a "tip" telephone line to be used by callers wishing to report a crime and remain anonymous, according to Staff Sgt. Kenneth Cunningham, non-commissioned officer in charge of investigations.

Sergeant Cunningham said the number is 953-TIPS (8477). He explained this number is not to be used for reporting fraud, waste, and abuse or suspected terrorist activity, which have their respective telephone numbers. Any other crime should be reported on the tip line, he said.

Callers do not have to identify themselves, Sergeant Cunningham stressed. The tip line will only be answered by Sergeant Cunningham or his partner, Scott Fowler.

Sergeant Cunningham said anonymous tip lines have proven to be highly effective tools in the fight on crime. He strongly urges anyone that may witness, or have information, concerning a crime to use the new Maxwell-Gunter tip line.
