Maxwell-Gunter force support orgs pick up 12 AETC awards

Maxwell Air Force Base and Gunter Annex organizations and individuals recently received significant recognition in the 2008 A1 Awards for the Air Education and Training Command. A1 incorporates services, manpower, personnel and equal opportunity.

The Maxwell protocol office received the George Washington Award for Protocol Excellence at the base level.

The 42nd Mission Support Group received the Human Resources Program of the Year award. The 42nd Mission Support Squadron was named the Airman Leadership School Program of the Year.

Force Support Field Grade Officer of the Year, headquarters level, went to Maj. Eugene Moore of the Holm Center. Also at the Holm Center, Capt. Douglas Huttenlocker was awarded Force Support Company Grade Officer of the Year, headquarters level.

Senior Master Sgt. Jose Alfaro of the Senior Non-Commissioned Officer Academy at Gunter Annex received the Academy Instructor of the Year, SNCO Academy. Master Sgt. Stacey Mercer of the 42nd MSS was named the Airman Leadership School Commandant of the Year at base level.

Personnel Technician of the Year, headquarters level, went to Tech. Sgt. Kara Marvici of the Holm Center. Tech. Sgt. Rochelle Harden of the Community College of the Air Force received Services Non-commissioned Officer of the Year, base level.

Arleen Dearbone of the 42nd MSS received Education and Training Manager of the Year - Civilian Technician, base level. Sue Kull of the Holm Center received Personnel Senior Manager of the Year, headquarters level.

A Special Recognition Award went to the Air Force Resource Management School of the Ira C. Eaker College for Professional Development.
