Airmen from the 690th Network Support Squadron welcomed new commander Capt. Timothy F. Labinski following a change of command ceremony at Maxwell Aug. 15, 2014.

Lt. Col. Eric Trias relinquished command to Labinski after about 2 years as the commander of the 690th NSS. Trias compared his role as the commander to being a kid in an amusement park.

He said, "It's been an awesome ride."

Trias will become the Chief of Enterprise Architecture at the Pentagon. He said while it is bittersweet that he is leaving, he has great confidence that the squadron is in good hands.

Before officially relinquishing command, Trias told his Airmen that he hopes they have been motivated by his story and strive to follow a similar path.

Labinski is the new commander, but no stranger to Maxwell. Before assuming command of the 690th NSS, he was the 26th Network Operations Squadron's operations flight commander at Maxwell. Labinski was all smiles during the ceremony and said he is excited and looks forward to working with everybody and continuing Trias's work.
