Maxwell supports children with donation Published May 2, 2014 By Donovan Jackson 42nd Air Base Wing Public Affairs MAXWELL AIR FORCE BASE, Ala. -- In support of National Child Abuse Prevention Month and Month of the Military Child, several wing groups teamed up this week to support Montgomery area children. The 42nd Air Base Wing, the Maxwell Integrated Delivery System in partnership with the Family Advocacy Program, Maxwell Top Three, Maxwell 5/6 and the Maxwell-Gunter Officers' Spouses' Club donated a variety of non-perishable food items Tuesday to Montgomery Child Protect Inc. Col. Mark Ramsey, 42nd ABW vice commander, presented the food items to the organization on behalf of the wing organizations. "It's an honor to know that these various food items will go to those children who need them the most," said Ramsey. "After having a chance to see the Child Protect operation, I have a much better appreciation for what they do, and it feels really good to be a part of a team that has made contributions to their efforts." Jannah Bailey, executive director of Child Protect Inc., said that she was extremely appreciative of Maxwell's contributions. "I can't even begin to describe how thankful I am for Maxwell's contributions," said Bailey. "It's an overwhelming feeling of gratefulness." In addition to the food donations, Master Sgt. Erin Panas, superintendent of Airman Leadership School programs at the Thomas N. Barnes Center for Enlisted Education and Maxwell-Gunter Top Three vice president, presented Child Protect Inc., with a check worth $100 in appreciation of the organization's services to the children whom have been abused in Montgomery, Autauga, Elmore and Chilton counties. "We provide about 600 children a year with snacks, lunches and dinners," said Bailey. "Every dollar and dime will go to helping us continue to provide for the children who need it the most."
