After a five-year hiatus, the Air Force Information Technology and Cyberpower Conference kicks off Aug. 29, 2016, with a full schedule of keynote speakers, panels and breakout sessions and the opening of an exhibition hall with more than 100 vendors.

The conference is being held at the Renaissance Montgomery Hotel and Spa at the Convention Center in downtown Montgomery. Online registration has closed; however, people can still register for the conference at the venue from 12-5 p.m., Aug. 28, and starting at 7 a.m. during the conference.

Opening the conference on Aug. 29 will be Lt. Gen. Steven Kwast, commander of Air University; Richard Aldridge, program executive officer and director, Business and Enterprise Systems; and Montgomery Mayor Todd Strange.

The first day’s keynote speakers include Lt. Gen. William Bender, chief, Information Dominance and Chief Information Officer, Office of the Secretary of the Air Force; Brig. Gen. Mitchel Butikofer, vice commander of 24th Air Force; and Mr. Dion Weisler, president and CEO, HP Inc.

Keynote speakers for the second day are Gen. John Hyten, commander of Air Force Space Command; Lt. Gen. Robert Otto, deputy chief of staff, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance, U.S. Air Force; and Jane Rathbun, deputy director for Defense Business in the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for C3, Cyber and Business Systems within AT&L.

Rounding out the list of keynote speakers on the last day of the conference is Cameron Chehreh, chief technology officer, Dell Federal.

Woven throughout the conference are Cyber Defense, Delivering Capabilities and Technology and Cyber Advisory Group breakout sessions and panels. The overarching goals of these sessions is to build trusted partnerships and to provide a framework for collaboration between government, industry and academic experts in the IT and cyber communities.

The last conference was held in Montgomery in 2011. Budget cuts due to sequestration at the time forced the cancellation of the 2012 and ensuing years’ conferences.
