Get to know the Airman of the Month for November 2024, Senior Airman Zachary Schweigart, 97th Logistics Readiness Squadron fire truck and refueling mechanic.

 

Where are you from?

I’m from Omaha, Nebraska.

 

What made you join the military?

I wanted to better myself and try new things.

 

Can you describe your job and why you believe it is important to the Altus AFB mission?

I am a fire truck and refueling mechanic and we fix problems with any fire truck and refueler on base to make sure everything runs smoothly and safely.

 

How do you stay motivated?

I find that keeping positive relationships with the people you work with plays a big role in staying motivated.

 

Can you describe a particular accomplishment you are especially proud of?

When I had to shake, take, and salute to receive my graduation coin at basic military training. It signified the hard work I put into joining the world's greatest Air Force and becoming a better version of myself.

 

What advice would you give to Airmen who aspire to succeed in your career field?

Learn as much as you can, as fast as you can, and don’t be afraid to ask questions.
