SHEPPARD AIR FORCE BASE, Texas - Senior leaders from the Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training Program convened this week for Steering Committee 89, reaffirming their commitment to advancing the world’s only fully integrated multinational pilot training program.

Held twice a year, the ENJJPT Steering Committee brings together representatives from 14 partner nations to assess the training syllabus, enhance student and instructor balance, and explore strategies to address global pilot shortages. Discussions also centered on long-term strategic planning to ensure the program remains aligned with evolving operational needs.

“ENJJPT’s strength lies in its multinational collaboration, and the Steering Committee ensures we remain aligned with the needs of our nations and the evolving demands of the air domain,” said Belgian Air Force Brig. Gen. Patrick Goossens, ENJJPT Steering Committee chairman. “The continued success of our program is a testament to our shared commitment to producing highly skilled fighter pilots who will serve as future leaders in NATO airpower.”

As ENJJPT adapts to a dynamic operational environment, its leadership remains focused on sustaining excellence while preparing for the future.

“ENJJPT is more than a training program—it is a strategic investment in the readiness and interoperability of NATO air forces,” said Col. Jeffrey Shulman, 80th Flying Training Wing commander. “The Steering Committee’s efforts ensure we continue developing combat-ready pilots through an unparalleled multinational training environment.”

Decisions made during the committee meeting help shape ENJJPT’s training structure and policies in the coming years, reinforcing its role as the premier fighter pilot training pipeline for NATO and its allies.
