Captains get glimpse of Air Force PME

Army Capt. Rodney Yost climbs up a board, observed by his teammates, from left, Army Capt. Adam Chappel, Army Capt. Julio Fernandez, Marine Capt. Richard Jahelka, Army Capt. Shane Cohtz (kneeling) and Capt. Erik Bondhus as they tackle Project X, an obstacle course that tests teamwork and problem-solving skills Feb. 16. Squadron Officer School hosted 33 Army captains attending the Maneuver Captains Career Course at Fort Benning, Ga. as well as two instructors, for a day. The Soldiers gained insight into the Air Force, including the professional military education offered on Maxwell, the breadth of the career fields and a better sense of how the Air Force works in general. The captains joined the Gryphons, a SOS squadron, in the classroom, addressing leadership models and concepts, joint experiences with Army and Air Force counterparts, communication barriers between services, career aspects and cultural differences between the services.
