ACSC students visit CNN Headquarters, discuss military-media relations

Ryan Burle, from “Inside CNN,” guides students from the Air Command and Staff College through the news network’s headquarters facilities Nov. 20. The visit included discussion of military-media relations with Jim LeMay, consultant for CNN, and a subsequent trip to the Defense Video and Imagery Distribution System facility, also located in Atlanta. The students’ trip was part of the elective course “The War for Public Opinion,” produced by the U.S. Air Force Public Affairs Center of Excellence. The course provides future leaders with an understanding of the impact of modern global information environment and the need for members of the armed forces at every level to be prepared to communicate effectively with the public they serve.
