75 years later, memories of Pearl Harbor attacks still vivid
Retired Air Force Chief Warrant Officer Jay C. Groff Jr. is covered with a Quilt of Valor that was given to all the World War II veterans during the 2016 Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day 75th Anniversary Commemoration at the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C., Dec. 7, 2016. Stationed at Hickam Field in Oahu, Hawaii, Groff heard an explosion on Dec. 7, 1941, and raced out of the barracks to defend against the attack. (U.S. Army photo/Sgt. Jose A. Torres Jr.)
