Air Force Research Lab studies trust between surgical teams and robots
Dr. Svyatoslav Guznor, 711th Human Performance Wing (HPW) research psychologist, Capt. Nichole Settlemires, 81st Surgical Operations Squadron preoperative nurse, and Capt. Breanna Raney, 711th HPW Airman systems directorate program manager, Air Force Research Lab receive in-depth information about various instruments used in surgical robotics from Jon Martin, Intuitive Surgical customer trainer (center) at Keesler Medical Center, Nov. 14, 2017, on Keesler Air Force Base, Miss. Guznor and his research team are observing Keesler’s Institute for Defense Robotic Surgical Education (InDoRSE) training. They are currently studying how trust is developed between surgical teams and the robot.
