CSDS, Global Strike distance learning improves understanding of nuclear enterprise across DoD
Graphic caption: The Air Force Center for Strategic Deterrence Studies at Air University celebrates its 20th anniversary in September 2018. The center, in collaboration with Global Strike Command, offers a Strategic Deterrence Basic Course for Airmen through online video conferencing. In 1998, the service stood up the then-named Air Force Counterproliferation Center, which was renamed the Air Force Center for Unconventional Weapons Studies in 2014. Recently, the center was renamed the Center for Strategic Deterrence Studies to reflect the importance of maintaining a credible and robust strategic deterrence as one of the Air Force’s enduring contributions to national defense.
