HQ AFJROTC announces 2021 The J-100 Scholarship winners
Cadet Audra Lindquist, a senior at Shadow Mountain High School, Phoenix, AZ, Air Force Junior ROTC Unit AZ-911, is a recipient of The J-100 AFJROTC Character-in-Leadership Scholarship. The J-100 recognizes the character and leadership developed in AFJROTC cadets and provides 100 high school seniors the opportunity to pursue a commission in the United States Air or Space Forces while earning their college degree. This is a four-year scholarship and the 100 selected cadets for 2021 met required academic and physical fitness standards, and were ultimately selected by a board of Air Force civilians, officers, and senior non-commissioned According to her instructors, Lt. Col. (Ret) William Bones and Senior Master Sgt. (Ret) Chad Hayden, Cadet Lindquist is a stellar student, AFJROTC cadet and future leader. Last year and through the ongoing COVID crisis, Lindquist communicated with Phoenix’s flying community and acquired dozens of familiarization flights for her fellow cadets. She did this completely on her own and her flight familiarization initiative grew quickly. She has had nearly 30 cadets fly or at least have one hour of aviation familiarization. Lindquist's efforts have had a significant impact on morale and truly a lasting legacy in her unit. Lindquist hopes one day to be an Air Force pilot.
