U.S. Airmen assigned to the 15th Airlift Squadron, Joint Base Charleston, connect with a Pennsylvania Air National Guard KC-135 Stratotanker for aerial refueling over South Carolina, Jul. 23, 2021. The C-17 Globemaster III is a high-wing, four-engine, T-tailed military transport vehicle capable of carrying payloads up to 169,000 pounds. It has an international range and the ability to land on small airfields.
