David Mitchell, 487th TRS commander, during the squadron's reactivation and assumption of command ceremony at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Texas, on Jan. 24, 2025. Mitchell is now responsible for the 487th TRS’ whose primary mission will be to maintain administrative control for all U.S. Air Force Reserve initial aircrew training students: pilots, combat systems officers, air battle managers, career enlisted aviators, and remotely piloted aircraft pilots.
